What is 5,000 in 5?

A Strategic Vision was revealed to the CFCA National Council in the beginning of 2024. The Strategic Vision calls for a doubling of numbers (from 2,500 to 5,000 adult members) and a doubling of our presence in parishes (from 80 to 160) within 5 years, culminating in 2028. Our rallying cry towards this strategic vision is "5,000 in 5!"

Why 5,000 in 5? Love is why.

Jesus commands us

Matthew 28:19 says "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."

The world needs us

Called to be families in the Holy Spirit renewing the face of the earth, we need to reignite our fire for evangelisation to bring about renewal to this broken world that we live in.

It is our calling

As followers of Christ and as members of CFCA, evangelisation is at the core our life in the community. Evangelisation is our call, our duty, and our privilege.

It is a gift from God

This call to 5,000 in 5 is a gift from God. It draws us closer to God. As we respond to this call, we will experience gratefulness and true joy.

Strategic Imperatives

In launching the strategic vision, the National Council, together with the Area Leaders, identified 5 imperatives on which our strategic vision is anchored. They are imperatives because these are essential to achieve the vision. These are the following:

Courageous Evangelisation

This means fearlessly sharing the Gospel, being creative and bold in our outreach initiatives, and every member being a witness to our faith. It is being courageous in trying new ways to reach out, invite, and evangelise.

Transformational Leadership

Developing leaders who inspire and drive change, encourage innovation in ministry practices, and mentor emerging leaders. It means providing continuous formation and training to develop servant leaders who serve with humility.

Lived-out Community & Culture

Being faithful to our covenant, actively participating in our
community life, and living out our culture in CFCA.

Proactive Promotion of our Community

This is actively promoting CFCA and engaging with the wider community through various means like modern media and technology. We highlight our success stories and testimonials and develop a strong presence and identity.

Spiritual Nourishment

Through faith formation programs, personal and communal prayer life, the
sacraments, spiritual retreats and reflections, and other opportunities for spiritual growth.
