NSW Leaders’ Assembly, 11 January 2025 by Rose Ampon

The CFCA-NSW Leaders held an assembly on 11 January 2025 to set a common objective for the year and to give encouragement to each and everyone. There were 133 servant leaders present. Bro. Noli Robles delivered a talk titled "A call to radical change and commitment," focusing on St. Paul's call for transformation and commitment to God's will.

Reminding the assembly of St. Paul’s teachings, Bro. Noli emphasized the importance of presenting ourselves to God as holy and acceptable. This involves yielding ourselves to the Lordship of Jesus, putting ourselves in God's presence, seeking God's guidance, prioritizing God's desires, and living a life of worship. These practices highlight a life of total commitment and surrender to our Lord’s will, seeking His guidance in all aspects of life, and living in a way that honours and glorifies Him.

The talk also discussed the “lure of conforming to this world”, the tendency to align our attitudes, beliefs, and values with those of the people around us and what we see on social media and television. This alignment can happen both consciously and unconsciously and can lead us away from God's teachings. When we conform to the world through apathy and neglecting God's ordinary means of grace, our understanding of our purpose, identity, and mission in life can be shaped by whatever is popular instead of God's divine will for us.

To seek God's will in our lives, we should surrender our personal desires, engage with God's Word, spend time in prayer, follow God wholeheartedly, do what pleases God, and seek the Holy Spirit's guidance. These practices emphasize a life of total surrender and commitment to God's will, seeking His guidance, and living in a way that honours and glorifies Him.

There were workshops and sharing within the talk where everyone was encouraged to share about their journey of leadership, their proudest moments as leaders and the challenges they have encountered and overcame.  New servant leaders were welcomed as well as those who have stepped up to take more responsibilities in helping shepherd God’s people. Please continue to include them and their families in our prayers and give them our support when challenges come their way, as they also pray for all the members of CFCA.

As we welcome 2025, let us come together as a family at our upcoming Evangelisation Rally this Saturday, 1 February at St. Andrew’s College School Hall, Marayong, from 12:30 PM. Aside from renewing friendships and meeting our new brothers and sisters we will also get nourishment in body and spirit by hearing the talks from our Elders as they speak about our community’s accomplishments and the theme for the year. See you there!
