CFCA Vic Christmas Party 2024 by Eva Olivar

Updated: Dec 12

CFCA Victoria celebrated the most wonderful time of the year- Christmas; the birth of our saviour Jesus Christ at St. James The Apostle in Hoppers Crossing on 7th December 2024. The event begun with a celebration of the Holy Eucharist by Father Jude, the parish priest with a lovely message of Love and Hope. Father’s message of hope this advent is anchored in the promise of Christ coming, that hope is rooted in faith that inspires us to look back beyond our immediate circumstances and trust God faithfulness to His promises. Likewise, love this advent reminds us to recognize that God’s loves us through His actions. It is about how he came to give us Hope, Joy and Love.

After the holy mass, everyone gathered in the hall for the celebration of Christmas entitled “PASKO SA NAYON.” Every chapter and its ministries wore Filipiniana costumes in varied styles which are all equally beautiful and signifies the true essence of Pilipino identity.

The games Pabitin and Limbo rock added an extra fun for both children and adults including recognizing male and females best in costume. Sis Katya and bro. Carl got the crown for this award. Santa also graced the occasion by distributing lollies to the little ones in between presentations for some breaks and preparations.

The performances of each chapter were incredibly wonderful, entertaining and breathtaking showcasing the talents, skills and beauty of Filipino dance.

Moreover, The Love in Action team spearheaded a raffle draw which became a big hit. The generous number of prizes donated brought bags of prizes to everyone who were lucky from the draw. The proceeds of the said raffle will fund the LIA’s gift giving project this Christmas season to give a bit of joy into their celebration.

The successful event was hosted by West 2 Chapter under the headship of Abella’s Chapter. The team had demonstrated a great teamwork which was incredibly astonishing. It was a well-attended event for the community to end the year’s calendar of activities. Sharing some of our lovely photos.
