“Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. Fight the good fight for the true faith.” 1Timothy 6:12
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2Timothy 4:7
“Take up the Shield of Faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one.” Ephesians 6:16
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
General Reflections:
Fighting the good fight of faith are the times when we must stand our ground and not quit – even if it looks like we are going down for the count. Don’t quit! God will cause us to be victorious if we believe His Word and not give up. Our path of faith often requires us a fight to see it through to completion. Fighting the good fight brings God’s presence and boldness to us. The dark world is always afraid of the righteous and righteousness allows a man to access God’s blessings. Nothing more will bring peace to man than living a righteous life.
When we are equipped with the Armor of God, living in love and speaking the words of faith, the enemy will see Jesus in us and know that he has lost the fight and we will always win the good fight of faith.
So prepare yourself for a long and battle. Persevere in fighting the good fight of faith trusting that Jesus, our Commander is with us in every stage of the battle. He will lead us to victory as He is a victorious God. He has conquered death and Satan.
Our journey of faith is a treacherous one; it is a marathon, not a sprint.
Personal Reflections:
Do you “fight the good fight of faith” every day; in what ways?
Do you persevere in fighting the good fight or do you easily give up?
In what ways do you bring God’s presence to others?
Will you and are you ready to defend your faith and beliefs?
If you face Jesus now, can you honestly tell Him that you have fought the good fight, that you have kept the faith and run the race to the finish?
