South Unit CLP Dedication Day

Last Sunday, 20th of October 2024, the South unit celebrated the dedication day of their participants composed of five couples and one handmaid. This event concluded the 12-week Christian Life Program held every Sunday at the Brighton Catholic Parish.

The Christian Life Program is comprised or three modules. Module one focuses on the basic truths of Christianity which talks about: God’s Love, Who is Jesus Christ, What it means to be a Christian, and Repentance and Faith. Module two focuses on the ideals that we Christians are called to live out namely: The Christian Ideal: Loving God and neighbour, The Christian Family, and Life in the Holy Spirit. And module three focuses on how we commit our lives to Jesus Christ, by living in the power of the Holy Spirit, and by joining and participating in a supportive community for continued personal growth and formation. The talks under this module include: Awakening the Power of the Holy Spirit, Growing in the Holy Spirit, The Life and Mission of CFCA, and Transformation in Christ.

It has been quite a while since SA last did a twelve-week CLP but doing it the traditional way once more just proved the unwavering commitment and dedication of our service team as well as the participants.

Having only one talk per session means the participants get to dive more deeply into each topic and they get to have more time opening up during the group discussions as well.

While the parents are listening to the talks, the kids are also having their own "mini-CLP" where they get to learn more about Jesus and their Christian faith.

Each session was concluded by a shared lunch/fellowship where we get to enjoy a scrumptious meal, making sure everyone was fed not just spiritually but also physically!

Of course, all these things would not be possible without the hard work of the South unit service team as well as the unwavering support of Fr. Michael Musyoka, parish priest of Brighton Catholic Parish!

It was, indeed, a big undertaking and we may have faced challenges along the way, but our good Lord has always carried us through in order for us to accomplish His mission of evangelising and renewing the faith of His people.

Yes, we can probably say that the twelve-week CLP is laborious. But when you have encountered Jesus and He transforms your life, you just could not help but to share Him to the world that desperately needs Him the most!
