Walk for a cause - Love in Action

By Rey Domingo, LIA NSW North Cluster Coordinator

Do you want to join me in making a difference? Many students of the indigenous Kabihug Manide people walk over two hours or 10 kilometres to and from school. Located in Paracale Camarines Norte in the Philippines, daytime temperatures can reach 36 ⁰C while rainfall on two of every three days a year can turn walking trails muddy. On most days, it is a hot, humid, and wet trek to school and back with some students on bare feet.

We are raising money in aid of Love in Action Incorporated and every donation will help towards the purchase of a school bus for Katutubo Elementary School. With a carrying capacity of up 17 passengers, the Mitsubishi L300 has been assessed by the school community as the most suited for their needs. The price is listed as PHP 825,000 or approximately $22,550.

During the month of June 2024, volunteers from Couples for Christ Australia and Love in Action pledge to walk up to 10 kms in solidarity with the Kabihug Manide peoples' right to education.

Please donate before 30 June 2024 so we can buy the school bus in time for the school term! Follow this link to donate https://gofund.me/e072f612

As Mother Teresa often said, “Do ordinary things with extraordinary love.”

God bless you and thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
