The CFCA-SA (Couples for Christ Australia – South Australia) leadership planning session was a momentous event as we warmly welcomed Brother Ed Cablao into our circle of leaders. Together, we embarked on sharing and aligning our hearts and minds toward CFCA’s new strategic spiritual mission, which is aimed at growing the community and reaching more families with the love of Christ.
The Mission: 5,000 in 5 Years
At the heart of our discussions was the ambitious mission to welcome an additional 5,000 members into CFCA over the next five years. This objective was succinctly summed up in the slogan: "5,000 in 5", serving as a rallying point for our efforts. As leaders, we gathered with one united goal: to support this mission and bring more families closer to Jesus.
Praise and Worship
The day began with a spirit of unity and reverence, as Brother Joel Tuazon led the group in a beautiful session of praise and worship. This set the tone for the day, reminding us that our efforts are grounded in faith, and that we seek divine guidance as we forge ahead with this important mission.
National Council Vision
Brother Ed, who took centre stage, opened the session by providing invaluable insights into how the National Council discerned this bold goal for CFCA. His message reminded everyone that this was not just a strategic plan but a spiritual calling. It was clear that the decision was rooted in prayer and a shared vision of expanding CFCA’s impact in the lives of families across the country.
Sharing the Vision: CFCA in 5 Years
Eager to contribute, each leader present shared their thoughts and hopes for CFCA’s future. There was an undeniable energy in the room as people spoke of how they envisioned the community evolving over the next five years. Ideas flowed freely as we discussed how to create more welcoming spaces, foster deeper spiritual growth, and increase outreach to new members.
Collaborative Planning and Ministry Support
The event was not just about talking, but about collaborating. After a shared lunch, each chapter and ministry broke into smaller groups to discuss practical ways to support this mission. Suggestions ranged from enhanced outreach programs, more family-oriented activities, and creative evangelisation efforts. Each group returned with fresh ideas and commitments, ready to implement these in their respective areas.
Concluding with Inspiration
The day concluded with a deep sense of inspiration and renewed purpose. As leaders, we felt the weight of the mission but also the excitement of what’s ahead. Every person who attended left with a firm conviction that CFCA’s evangelisation mission is vital in helping the Catholic Church bring more families back to Jesus.
In many ways, the event was a resounding success—not just in terms of planning, but in reigniting the flame of faith within each leader. It was a productive and spirit-filled day, and we are now more ready than ever to put this mission into action.
As we look forward to the next five years, we do so with faith, hope, and the knowledge that through the grace of God and the power of community, CFCA will continue to be a force for good in the lives of countless families.
Let us continue to strive toward 5,000 in 5!
