Basketball is a fast-paced team sport played on a rectangular hardcourt, The aim is to score points by shooting a ball through the opponent's hoop while preventing them from doing the same. Players dribble the ball (bounce it while moving) and pass to teammates to create scoring opportunities. The game involves skills such as shooting, passing, dribbling, and defensive maneuvers. Elimination and Championship games 1. Games to be played in half court only due to venue restrictions (unless an alternative is found). 2. The game starts with a toss-coin to determine first possession. 3. The game to be played by 4 players in each team. Players on the floor can be all YFCs but not more than half can be SFCs at any given time during play. 4. First half is 10 minutes, and second half is 10 minutes both running time with 1-minute half time break. 5. Each team shall be given 1 time out (60 seconds running time) each half time with a total of two (2) time outs total. 6. The two most winning teams shall face off in the championship game.​ 7. The player who committed 5 fouls during the entire game shall be out of the game. 8. When the game time ends, the team who leads the point wins. Basic Game Rules 1. Starting Play -The game starts with a coin toss to determine which team gets the first possession. The ball is checked at the top of the key (outside 3-point arc) to start the game. 2. Scoring -Baskets made from inside the three-point arc are worth 1 point. -Baskets made from outside the three-point arc are worth 2 points. 3. Possession Change -After a made basket, the opposing team gets possession of the ball at the top of the key. -On a defensive rebound or a steal, the ball must be taken back beyond the three-point line before attempting to score. 4. Checking the Ball -To promote better flow of the game, the ball is considered "checked" once a player has crossed it behind the 3-point line. However, stoppage of play (ex. time-outs, fouls, out of bounds, etc.) will require the ball the be hhand-checked by the opposing team. 5. Fouls -Personal fouls are called by an official referee. After a foul, the fouled player checks the ball at the top of the key. -Non-shooting fouls result in possession being retained by the fouled team. -Shooting fouls will result in a free throw (1 free throw if within the 3-point arc or 2 if outside the arc) -Each player has 4 fouls to give, the 5th foul will result in the player being ejected. 6. Out-of-Bounds -The ball is out-of-bounds if it touches any area outside the half-court lines. Possession goes to the opposing team at the top of the key. 7. Stalling -Each possession has a 20-second shot clock to prevent stalling. If a team fails to attempt a shot within 20 seconds, possession is forfeited to the other team. 8. Substitutions -Every player on the team must play at least one full possession -Substitutions can only happen at each dead ball -Each team has unlimited substitutions 9. Violations -3 seconds in the key will not be called. -Players cannot kick the ball at any time. -If a team does not take the ball back behind the 3 point and scores a basket, the point will not count. -Travelling will result in a turnover. -Double dribbling will result in a turnover.
